USAA Senior Division Scholarship

Entries or original work in essay, poem, or letter format will be double-spaced and be in Word document format. Applicant’s name should not appear on the essay.


All applicants must complete and submit AGH Form 6-2 and an original essay of 1500-2000 words on a topic selected by the Scholarship Committee.


In lieu of a written essay, applicants may submit a video with the following guidelines:


  • Senior Division: Video length should be 10-12 minutes.

Applications will be electronically submitted to the Vice President of Chapter One by 30 June of each year.


Approved Scholarship Topics:


  • How did Hamas come to power in Gaza?
  • How did the fall of the Soviet Union lead to the present Ukrainian conflict?
  • Discuss AI’s battlefield role. It isn’t just for sci-fi movies anymore.
  • Discuss the role of service dogs for service veterans with PTSD.
  • Discuss the challenges of military intervention in humanitarian crises, domestic or abroad.
  • Compare and contrast America’s political parties and how would you unite them?
  • What has been America’s influence in the world since 2000?


Applicants should review all topics carefully and select one for their submission.
