CHAPTER 1 MEMBERSHIP
MEMBERSHIP Membership in the Noncommissioned Officer Academy Graduate Association shall be on a voluntary basis. The are four categories of members:
a. Charter Membership. Charter membership is reserved for those
individuals that graduated from an accredited United States Air Force Noncommissioned
Officer Academy prior to 12 September 1969 and were admitted to the
predecessor-in-interest on or before 13 January 1971. Charter members
in the predecessor-in-interest shall hold Charter Membership in the
Corporation.
b. Honorary Charter Membership. Honorary Charter
membership is extended to Brigadier General I. G. Brown, Assistant Chief
National Guard Bureau (Air) in recognition of his dynamic leadership in
founding the Air National Guard Noncommissioned Officer Academy.
Honorary Charter members
c. Regular
Membership. Regular membership
shall be extended to active and retired members of the United States Armed
Forces, including Reserve and National Guard Forces, who have
graduated from an accredited in-resident enlisted Professional Military
Education course
recognized as fulfilling United States Air Force promotion
requirements. Regular members are authorized
to hold office and to vote upon all matters in which the members have an interest,
in the method set out in the Articles of Incorporation or By-laws.
Charter members are also regular members. Regular members in the
predecessor-in-interest shall hold Regular Membership in the Corporation,
although nothing in this provision shall prevent the Corporation from
extending Regular Membership to those who would otherwise qualify for
Regular Membership.
d. Associate
Membership. Associate membership
shall be extended to active and retired members of the United States Armed
Forces, including Reserve and National Guard Forces, who have missed the opportunity to attend in-resident Professional Military
Education (for
whatever reason), but have successfully completed a United States Air Force enlisted
Professional Military Education correspondence course.
Associate members are authorized to vote, in the manner set out in
the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws, upon all matters in which the members have
an interest, but will not hold office in a. Active
Members. Active members are those members
whose dues are current and are considered members in good standing.
b. Inactive
Members. Inactive members are those
members whose dues are not paid to date and are considered members not in good standing. Inactive members will be referred to as members in
arrears. Members in arrears will not be
allowed to vote, hold office, or participate in the Noncommissioned Officer
Academy Graduate Association's business. HONORARY STATUS & FRIENDS OF THE ASSOCIATION a. Honorary Membership. Honorary membership may be extended to any citizen who has rendered conspicuous service to the cause of National Defense and Promotion of the Corporation or the predecessor-in-interest. Approval by two-thirds majority of the members present at a general meeting is required for Honorary membership. Honorary members are not members. Honorary members will not be assessed dues and will not have the power to hold office or to vote. Honorary members shall have no rights or obligations with respect to dissolution or redemption. Honorary members in the predecessor-in-interest shall hold Honorary Membership in the Corporation, although nothing in this provision shall prevent the Corporation from extending Honorary Membership to those who would otherwise qualify for Honorary Membership. b. Friend of the Association. The purpose of this category shall be to recognize those who show support for the Noncommissioned Officer Academy Graduate Association. Friends of the Association are not members of the Noncommissioned Officer Academy Graduate Association. Friends of the Association shall not hold office in the Noncommissioned Officer Academy Graduate Association or have the power to vote. Friends of the Association shall have no rights or obligations with respect to dissolution or redemption. Friends of the Association in the predecessor-in-interest shall hold the status of Friends of the Association in the Corporation, although nothing in this provision shall prevent the Corporation from extending Friends of the Association status to those who would otherwise qualify for Friends of the Association status. Friends of the Association dues are limited to a one or three year membership and are as follows: One year - $15.00, three years - $35.00. |
